{Mike's Little Art Project...}

Mike is VERY excited about decorating for Halloween! He's been waiting for years until we got our own house so that he could be as spooky as he wanted to be! He's THRILLED that our neighbors are as equally into Halloween as he is. Our neighbor Rudy has AMAZING decorations...and he's been working on them for years, so Mike has his work cut out for him! It'll take YEARS to get where Rudy is...but my boy has dreams and goals! So far he's made a few paper maché pumpkins and has a lot more ideas in his head! Here are some pictures:
I'll try and get some pictures of Rudy's decorations soon...he's got an AMAZING fence that goes around his house, with columns and everything...it's NUTS!

{Happy Birthday Curt & Val!!}

WooHoo! Curt's another year older today! Next year will be an interesting birthday date that not many people get to experience. 10-10-10! How cool is THAT? Most people's birthdays will never happen like that. That'll be a crazy party next year! This year...a little Knott's Scary Farm tonight(no thanks!) and brunch/Oktoberfest @ the Phoenix Club tomorrow (HECK ya!)! Look forward to celebrating our wonderful Curtis with everyone!

Our next door neighbor, Valerie, already turned 40 earlier this month but was out of town so we couldn't celebrate! Tonight, however...is another story! We're having a Surprise 40th for her! I personally do NOT like to be surprised (thankfully Mike knows this!) but Rudy says that Val won't mind...good luck with that Rudy! Ha, ha! Gotta make a special card for her today...I LOVE making special cards for special people!

I get to make another one next week for our neighbor's daughter on the other side of us that has a lot of meaning. She's heading off to Army boot camp! Her parents are very proud...Julie (her mom) was in the Army too, but we won't hold that against her! Hee, hee! And then my October cards are all done...not many birthdays in October; August and December are my SUPER busy months! So maybe I'll get to finish the other wall plaque in our bathroom...I DID finish one last night!

That's all from Walker Central for today, I'm trying to get better about posting more often again, I realized that I was slacking off and it's SUCH an easy thing to do! (Posting on here, not slacking off!) I'll try and get some pictures up later of Mike and his spooky paper maché pumpkins that he's been making! Ciao!

{We might be "moving" to Los Alamitos!}

The potential adjustment has been the subject of previous discussions involving staff from Orange and Los Angeles LAFCOs and the cities. Additionally, Supervisor Moorlach (Orange) and Supervisor Knabe (Los Angeles) have met to discuss. Both cities appear to be supportive of the potential change. Staff from Los Angeles and Orange LAFCO met to discuss next steps and agreed to identify this issue in the boundary report to move discussions forward.

Los Alamitos Area 2
Another potential change involving the cities of Los Alamitos and Long Beach includes a residential area located immediately north of the boundary area shown in Figure 4.0. This area is currently located in Long Beach and east of the flood control channel. Much like the previous area involving the same cities, current boundaries split property lines between two counties. Immediate access to the neighborhood is adjacent to the Cities of Los Alamitos and Cypress.

So they are talking about moving the city/county boundaries and making the flood control channel the actual county/city boundary instead of having it all weird like it is now. It's been talked about for a few years because Orange County wants to annex us into their county. We'll see what the city council is going to do...so we might be "moving" to Los Alamitos! I'm sure it won't be anytime soon...it'll probably take a few more years, but we'll see! How weird would THAT be? Buy a house in Long Beach, but now living in Los Alamitos? Hee, hee! Strange!

{♥Twisted Disney Princess Art ♥}

Something a little SPOOKY for Halloween! Someone posted this on Facebook and I think the artwork is just TOO cool not to share with everyone! This guy is an amazing artist...you have to look for the small details to really understand his genius! The 3 Walkers give this guy a THUMBS UP!

{♥ Paramore...Rescheduled!! ♥}

Yeah! Hayley's recovering and they've already rescheduled our concert date! Veteran's Day! That's nice since the kids don't have school that day. Hopefully Mike can clear his schedule, otherwise we'll have to just get a refund on the tickets. I wonder if they'll give something special to the Veteran's that attend the concert on Veteran's Day? That'd be ME! :-D Mike won't be a vet for a little while longer...he's thinking about retiring soon, I think it'd be good for him. After 20 years, it's enough...especially when you have another full-time job as well!

So...we'll just have to listen to "Riot!" and "Brand New Eyes" until the 11th of November, when hopefully we'll be @ the Palladium rocking out LIVE to Paramore!

{♪♫ Paramore...no more! ♫♪}

What a BUMMER start to the day! Mike and I were taking Meghann and 4 of her friends to go see the group Paramore tonight @ the Hollywood Palladium. Unfortunately, the lead singer, Hayley, has lost her voice and is having issues with her vocal chords right now...so the concert has been postponed! :-( Since they are on their Fall Tour, the dates are pretty packed...they have the month of November off before they hit Europe, so they may have to squeeze in a few of the postponed concert dates then, but POOP! We were all really looking forward to tonight. Meghann still doesn't know yet, and will be BUMMED out when we pick her up from school! :-( Luckily one of Mike's friends on Facebook posted on his status about it, or we wouldn't have even THOUGHT to check. I'll bet there are plenty of ticket holders that show up @ the Palladium tonight and are VERY disappointed! Oh well...gotta take it in stride, and hope that the reschedule date still works for everyone! Thankfully we know quite a few kids that LOVE Paramore, so if the original group can't make it, we'll see about getting others in on it!

♫♪ Feel better, Hayley...we can't wait to rock out with Paramore! ♪♫

{2 days...}

Wow! I've worked for 2 days now! After working for 3 years, then taking a year off...it's weird to have that responsibility again. However, it feels kinda "normal" since I'm working with my old boss, Linda! So I immediately had that connection. And only working for 3 hours a day, 3 days a week...my "work week" is almost over! :-D It's like having a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday...but the actual days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...I just get to experience all of the feelings that M, W, F bring. M="Bummer...weekend's over", W="Halfway there...", F="WooHoo! It's the weekend!". So far, the job has been good. It's a fast growing company that has been around for 7 years. There are a lot of growth changes right now...company expanding, aquiring other properties, etc. So there is a HUGE move this weekend, with a lot of people moving to another building on the property. That will be great for them...more room! It'll be weird to come in on Monday and see all the changes, but not actually have had to do the work involved with them! :-D It's a great thing for me to get out of the house again...I forget how much I enjoy being around a lot of different people! And I still have 4 days a week to play with my family and friends...it's ALL good! Happy "Wednesday" on Tuesday! :-D

{Michelle is a Working Gal Again!!}

Lucky, lucky Michelle! Jobs just seem to fall into my lap! I'll be working with my old boss from Dream Dinners @ a t-shirt design company in Cypress, right by the house. (And on Walker Street...funny, huh?) Hybrid Tees It's the perfect job for me...3 days a week, 3 hours a day! Enough to get me out of the house and making a little $$$, but not too much to drive me NUTS! Nice supplement to the transcribing I'm doing for a couple of HIGH PROFILE attorneys. I start on Monday...WooHoo! Oh...and I don't have to wear anything but jeans and t-shirts! Hee, hee! PERFECT!

{HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!}

WooHoo! It's your birthday...it's your birthday! Party like a rock star! FINALLY! Welcome to "Club 14" Kendall! :-D We've been waiting and waiting for you to join Megs! We TRIED to get you Nick Jonas for your special day, but...he ran screaming! Ha, ha, ha! :-D We love you Killer Kendall!

Each year we enjoy going to the Civil War Days @ the Huntington Beach Park. It's entertaining and educational...and a beautiful setting! After last year's trip, we were looking up other ones and stumbled across the website for the one in Moorpark, CA. As we were looking @ the pictures, I recognized someone! What? Could it be? A former Marine Corps Bandsman that was leading a Civil War Era band and doing reenactments! How FUN! We found each other on Facebook and on Saturday had a reunion 14 years in the making! It was GREAT! We look forward to heading down to San Diego @ the end of October to go camping with the Hernandez family as well as going on the "Ghost Tour" that our friend is also a part of...he's a ghost that got hanged! Oooooh.....creepy! :-) Should be a LOT of fun! Here are some fun shots from the CWD @ HB!
